ALT supported the INS’ 5 Service Centers, which are responsible for processing immigration benefits claims. The CLAIMS lab modeled the Service Centers, as well as the applications under development, and versions already deployed.

Managed Software Testing Lab
ALT’s team organized the CLAIMS lab environment to provide accurate and larger testing environment to simulate models and duplicate hardware, and software issues in production settings. This environment permitted the modeling of problematic scenarios reported by the Service Centers.

ALT brought its expertise in Novell Netware, combined with Windows NT, and a variety of desktop operating systems to organize the lab workstations, and hardware peripherals to model functional workstations in the Service Centers.

A variety of Netware environments were configured for each of the Service Centers, and the current version of the software, as well as an environment for testing operating system patches, and software modifications.

ALT also worked closely with the INS Benefits Branch to ensure that software releases were tested in accurate environments, and provided post-release support to the Service Centers.
